I've been a designer for about 20 constantly fascinating years. I love the ever-changing nature of it. I've always enjoyed learning new techniques, tools, and ways of thinking about it all.

I started out designing and coding (HTML) at Amaze in Liverpool, then did lots of freelance Flash stuff in London, then got into motion graphics, then moved to Manchester and started designing again, which led into UX.

I’ve worked as a UX/Interaction Designer on Agile product teams at large companies like Booking.com, Manchester United and Co-op Digital. On these jobs, I tend to work closely with a UX Researcher, Front-End Dev and Content Designer. I drift into those areas myself but I’m usually focussed on the middle bit - on the UX and UI Design. I feel like I've learnt a lifetimes worth of knowledge from some inspiring people in this time.

Before going in-house, I freelanced at lots of cool Design Agencies in London and Manchester, like Amaze, Dare, Wunderman, TBWA, and Magnetic North. Clients included Landrover, Unilever, Adidas, BBC and Sony. No role was the same as the previous one… Web Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, coding (in Flash), Photography, Video Editing. Fun times! You can see some of this work on my Vimeo channel, which also has a few of my old motion graphics experiments
